During the week of February 21-26, 2022, we invited you to share your views on the issue of waste in Andros. You responded generously, with almost 500 replies!

What must we do?
- Reduce our own waste
- Encourage local production
- Take part in local Actions & Events
- Put Pressure on the Municipality for better services
What must the Municipality do?
- Set a clear vision - For the whole island
- Procure good Contracts for sustainable services and make them public
- Provide regular services that cope with our waste volume
- Recycling - make this easy to do with confidence
- Composting - a service for the whole of Andros
- Get organised - cope with the Seasonal needs, they are not a surprise
- Set clear rules & boundaries and act when rules are broken
- Provide special services and rules for building works
- Remove waste systematically and quickly . "See it - Fix it"
- Incentivise and Fine - "carrot & stick"
What must shops, tavernas and businesses do?
- Stop providing single-use plastic - bags, cups, takeaway containers
- Reduce packaging waste
- Commit to seasonal obligations - beach bars, cafes and tavernas
- Participate in bringing about change

- We are a consumer society
